Nestled in a quaint British village, the charming semi-detached bungalow of a family of four had been their sanctuary for years. With its colourful front garden and cosy interior, the house was filled with laughter and warmth. However, as the children grew older, the space felt increasingly cramped. The family cherished their home and didn’t want to leave, but they needed more room to accommodate their growing family’s needs. The mother dreamed of a larger kitchen for baking with her daughter, the father needed a quiet study for work, and both children wanted their own personalised rooms. After much contemplation, they decided to extend their beloved home, which is when they reached out to us, as we shared their vision and understood the delicate balance between modernity and preserving the home’s character. And so the project was carried out with careful planning and meticulous attention to detail.
The Result
We embarked on the project with careful planning, designing a single-story extension that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure and extended into the beautifully maintained back garden. Inspired by the house’s original design, we sketched out a single-story extension that seamlessly blended with the existing structure. It would extend gracefully into the beautifully maintained back garden, creating a harmonious transition between indoors and outdoors. Construction days were filled with excitement and anticipation. The familiar sound of hammers and saws mingled with laughter as the family watched their home transform before their eyes. Each brick laid and window framed felt like a step closer to their dream – the expanded living room became a perfect place for family bonding. a place where they could continue to grow and create memories together.
